Always one-on-one
Years clinical experience
Most outpatient PT clinics operate on a model that limits how much individual attention each patient receives. Clinicians juggle two to four patients per hour. Aides handle portions of your care. Session length gets compressed by documentation requirements.
PerformWell is cash-based by design — which removes those constraints entirely. One patient is scheduled per hour. Every minute belongs to you. Dr. Schuyten treats you from start to finish.
And critically: your clinician understands your discipline. A ballet dancer’s hip isn’t treated the same way as a recreational runner’s hip. A musician’s shoulder injury has different recovery considerations than a construction worker’s. That context changes every clinical decision.
Not just the body part that hurts. PT at PerformWell connects what’s happening physically to what it means for your training and performance.
Joint mobilization, soft tissue work, myofascial release, neuromuscular techniques, cupping and dry-needling — selected based on what your body needs, not what’s easiest to bill.
Therapeutic exercise rooted in your discipline. Returning a dancer to arabesque demands different programming than returning a musician to long rehearsal postures.
Exercises, cues, and modifications in writing. Not generic printouts — specific to what you worked on that day and what you’re going back to in rehearsal or training.
A detailed superbill will be generated on a monthly basis to submit for reimbursement. HSA and FSA payments accepted.
With your permission, Dr. Schuyten can coordinate directly with your coaches, directors, surgeons, or other providers to keep your whole team aligned.
Ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip-hop, cultural styles, ballroom, hip hop, modern, etc. We understand turnout, pointe work, and what high-volume rehearsal seasons do to the body.
Performers and athletes: same level of care. Your art form and sport mattering to you is the only requirement.
A full intake session — movement screen, performance history, goal-setting, and the start of your treatment plan. Approximately 60 minutes.
Treatment sessions and home programming built around your schedule, your discipline, and your goals — adjusted as you progress.
Within Michigan, we need a referral if PT is warranted to continue after 10 visits or 21 days, whichever happens first. We have a limited direct access capability.
Any relevant imaging (MRI, X-ray reports), a list of current medications, and your insurance card if you want a superbill. Wear or bring clothing you can move in — the initial evaluation includes movement assessment. Dancers: bring your dance bag.
For performers and athletes, please bring in your shoes, skates, instruments or other equipment you use regularly for your training to assist with the evaluation.
In-person sessions allow for hands-on manual therapy, direct tissue work, and physical contact techniques. Virtual sessions replace these with guided self-treatment and movement correction via video. Both formats are full 60 minute sessions with your clinician. Learn more about virtual PT →
