Insurance-based PT has a built-in ceiling on how much time and attention any single patient can receive. Under most insurance contracts, clinicians see multiple patients simultaneously — meaning you’re sharing your appointment.
Cash-based removes that structure. At PerformWell, one patient is scheduled per hour. That’s it.
Superbill documentation is provided after every visit for patients who want to seek out-of-network reimbursement. HSA and FSA accounts are accepted.

Every session opens with a conversation about what’s changed since the last visit — in training, in symptoms, in schedule. New patients receive a full intake: movement screen, history, performance context, and goal-setting. This is not rushed.
Every session includes exercise and mobility work tied to your rehabilitation goals — not generic strengthening, but work that connects directly to what your body needs to do in performance. This looks very different for a violinist vs. a dancer vs. a gymnast.
Need a home program reminder? You got it! And not a cookie-cutter version, but one that is specific to your needs as a performer. The goal is that you understand your own body well enough to manage between sessions.
Performing artists are a specific clinical population. The combination of athleticism and artistry deserves specialty care. Just as an athlete benefits from a provider that knows what their training entails–a performer does as well.
A dancer told to “just rest” for six weeks before opening night doesn’t have a useful piece of advice. Or a musician who is looked at as playing their instrument as a “hobby” versus a profession, will not benefit from that view on their care and progression.
Treatment at PerformWell is evidence-based — grounded in current research in arts and sports medicine and rehabilitation science. We’re also honest when the evidence is incomplete. You’ll always know what we know, what we don’t, and why we’re making the choices we’re making.
