I’ve been there.
I have been where you are. Wanting to learn more about my body, what it can do and not knowing how to differentiate the good from bad information in the media and from friends, family, teacher, coaches and colleagues.
I’ve also been hurt while performing. And surrounded by health care professionals that either did not appreciate what I wanted to get back to, or just didn’t know the demands of performance on my rehabilitation and training.
And now, I’m a mom and a clinician and lecturer, looking out not only for my kids that are beginning their own journeys as performers, but also for my students and patients, working to provide them equitable care in a world that is biased toward sports in attention, funding, and resources.
I hope to make this process easier for you, by putting everything in one place, whatever you are going through, whatever you want to learn and share, and help other health care providers and organizations learn how to provide better, customized and evidence-based care for their performing arts students and patients..
